When a jersey becomes more than a uniform.
After controversy erupts over a Haiti National Team World Cup jersey inspired by the Haitian Revolution, what begins as a debate over sports, symbolism, and what is considered "political" evolves into a deeper examination of history, identity, and memory.
In a university classroom, Haitian-American graduate student Jonas Pierre challenges his classmates to look beyond the jersey and confront a larger question:
Why are some histories celebrated while others are forgotten?
As the conversation unfolds, the students encounter a history many of them were never taught—and discover that the meaning carried by a piece of fabric can extend far beyond the field.
